Captain Quinn having been separated from his family from Michigan for over twelve years was reunited with them in April of this year.
While on a visit with his family in August he had a phone call from a law enforcement friend telling him that his boat was sinking from all the rain from tropical storm Lee, and that someone had cut three of the four ropes that had been securing it. He made a fast planned trip to Florida with a friend to take command of the situation on Labor Day weekend. They had a hair raising trip driving through the weather that pushed through the states, which included torrential down pours, and the tornadoes that ravaged Birmingham, Alabama.
While on this mission to save the Arabella from the grips of the waters, and the devilish people who were trying to sabotage her, Captain Quinn and his friend fought the high winds that violently pushed the Arabella totally around facing the other direction, and nearly capsizing the 18 foot speed boat they were using for their transportation to and from shore during their endeavors.
This particular portion of Captain Quinn’s life journey consisted of driving to Minnesota to pick up his friend King Dave and the speed boat, through storm after storm, from one state to another. On their travels to Florida the transmission in Captain Quinn’s Van decided to mutiny delaying their travel for a couple of days.
Arabella back afloat, re-docked in another location, and the transmission deciding to work once again, Captain Quinn traveled back to Minnesota to take King Dave back home. Thinking things would be alright for awhile, with the Arabella, Captain Quinn returned to Michigan to spend some more time with his family before returning to Florida and getting the Arabella ready for a new voyage.
Captain Quinn had a wonderful visit with his family, attended some family get togethers with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and reunited with some old friends from his past. He even helped his Mom & Stepfather host a Pirate Themed Halloween Party, which was a big success.
On November 8th Captain Quinn left to return to Florida to do some much need work on the Arabella, to get her ready for her next adventure. Arriving at the Arabella on the morning of November 10th, Captain Quinn found that she had been pillaged. The Arabella had been stripped of everything that had made her sea worthy. Stripped of thousands of dollars worth of equipment, the Arabella is now sitting with the bow of the 80 foot Landry Shrimp boat two (2) feet below the water.
Officers, and trainees, of the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission) were on scene using this incident as part of their training for new recruits. Captain Quinn had to go into town the next day to meet up with the Lieutenant, who was on scene, and have a report written up. The Lieutenant said he would be starting an investigation and that there has been a lot of this going on. They are speculating that a group are stripping boats along the water ways for anything salvageable that they can sell and make money. Even on this note the FWC is telling Captain Quinn that if the Arabella is not riased in a timely manner that they will Red Tag her as a Derelict, and charge Captain Quinn with “Felony Dumping & Abandonment”. Please tell me where is the “Justice” in this??? Shouldn’t they instead be helping find a way to raise the Arabella in their attempt to find more clues, and inspect the damages done to her?
Though the waters are troubled and deep, Captain Quinn is determined more than ever to continue to fight the sinister forces that have plaqued his life for the last five years. He will continue to move forward to fight the evil that has tried to break his spirit; And with the Lord as his driving power he will continue to fight, and he will complete the mission that the Lord has put him on. The Pirates Of Apalachicola are on a mission to spread the Lords Word and Love.
